I’ll Hold ICE Accountable
ICE has been out of control since Trump took office, and now we’re potentially seeing the devastating and tragic consequences here in Maine. Enough is enough. While we wait to learn more about what happened in Biddeford this morning, a fatal shooting involving federal agents is absolutely horrifying and the last thing any Mainer expects to wake up to.
People are afraid, and I’ve seen firsthand how it breaks our local communities. I’ve talked with a a local bakery owner who had to tell her immigrant employees to stay home because she refused to be the one to call their mothers if they were detained at her shop.
In Lewiston, Main Street has felt like a ghost town because families are terrified to leave their houses, hitting our local shops right where it hurts. When kids are too afraid to go to school and workers are too terrified to take the bus, the very foundation of our neighborhoods starts to crack.
I wrote back in January that we cannot hand over a blank check to an agency that operates without common-sense accountability while our neighbors are being terrorized. Public safety is the prerequisite for our businesses and our schools to function, but people cannot feel safe when federal agents act with total disregard for professional law enforcement standards.
In the Senate, I’ll vote to hold ICE accountable and finally provide accountability for murdering people. This shit has to stop.

Excellent comments Dan!
People can relate to this message. It’s time for action to take our cities back and you look to me like you are the one to do this in the Senate.
